The Brent crude oil price for November jumped by more than $2 on the London market to settle above $81/bbl on Sept. 24, marking the highest Brent settlement since November 2014. For this year, it was the first time since May that Brent broke above $80/bbl. US light, sweet crude for November delivery jumped by $1.30 to settle above $72/bbl, marking its highest front-month level since early July.
